MOTHERSHIP PUZZLE PEACE PROJECT
The Mothership is a massive eye-spy mural, inspired by nature and timeless wonder. The hand cut 8.5 ft x 4.5 ft collage mural is made entirely of repurposed recyclable materials. Zillions of chromatic detailed images merge in-sync with shape, color, and movement. Each intricate cutting is tucked and layered to fit along the edges of its neighboring pieces, collectively creating a meditative paper fabric of dreamy realms and curious elements. The closer you look, the more you will find in this infinite panorama.
The Mothership Puzzle Peace Project grew from my instinctive approach to constructing a raw cohesive puzzle mural out of vibrant, delicate images from scrap materials. For the viewer to participate with hands-on involvement in this art form, I’ve replicated the Mothership into a series of 15 artisanal wooden jigsaw puzzles, produced locally by Zen Art Design (S. Deerfield, MA). This unique jigsaw puzzle series is carefully crafted with beautiful images, elegant designs, and wonderful, whimsical, figural pieces. The intent of this project is to give the puzzler a similar experience of discovery, exploration, and enchantment that I had while creating the mural over a span of four years time. This visual instrument encourages us to find and create stillness within chaos, all while having fun.
